Updating Quick Benefits Calculator

Process Summary

The Quick Benefit Calculator software is installed on HSERV2 as well as each individual Money Advisors laptop. The software allows Money Advisors to workout benefits to assist Coast and Country tenants. The software will be provided by the Benefits and Money Advice Manager on a CD to the Service Desk.

Windows administrator account to install the software.

Responsibilities

The ICT Operations Team is responsible for the Work Instruction.

An ICT Officer would complete the task as software needs to be installed on the user’s computer.

Instructions

When you receive the CD. You will first need to update the software on HSERV2.

You need to ensure that no-one is using the software. By logging into HSERV2 and checking in computer management that no one is running any files from d:\shares\districts\QBC. This is normally performed out of hours on a night or a weekend.

From the example above BWCC32.DLL, qb4.exe, qbig.dll and qfbigalt.dll is open by Claire_Barnett and Kirsty_Edwards. Select all the files that are open from the QBC folder, right click and select “Close Open File”. Then click on “Yes” to the question “Are you sure you wish to close the open file?”

Run Setup from the CD on HSERV2, Click on the button “Install Quick Benefits Calculator Version xxx”

Double Click on the Setup.exe then click Next on the Welcome to QBC Setup.

The destination folder should be left as default “D:\Shares\Distri~1\QBC”

Leave the Program Manager Group left as default. You can tick the Create shortcut for all users not just administrator box.

The program will now install. Once the installation is completed Click Finish.

Once completed the software needs to be installed on to the Money Advisors laptops locally by inserting the CD into the drive on each laptop and run Setup accepting all default answers to any questions asked.
